Teams and seats

A team is one plan the whole office shares: everyone signs in as themselves and works from the same inbox, and admins and members send from the same credits (finance sees the team's faxes, inbox, credits and billing, but doesn't send faxes or manage members).

What does Business include for teams?

2 team seats. A seat is a person you invite; the owner who pays for the plan doesn't use one, so a Business team is you plus 2 people. Each extra seat is $2.99/month.

Admins and members send from the team's credits (finance can see them but doesn't send), and everyone works from one shared inbox and sent history.

How do I invite someone?

Teams are managed in the web dashboard, not the mobile app. Open the Team page (create your team there first; it needs the Business plan), enter the person's email address, and choose a role.

They get an email invite, valid for 7 days, which you can resend. To join, they sign in to FaxDash, or create an account, with the email address you invited. A pending invite counts toward your seats. The app shows which team you're on, but inviting and managing people happens in the dashboard.

What can each role do?

Every member has one of three roles, and an admin can change it from the Team page.

  • Admin — invites and removes people, changes roles, sets page limits, and suspends or restores seats. Also sends faxes, with no page limit.
  • Member — sends faxes from the team's credits, works the shared inbox, and uses the team's contacts and document vault.
  • Finance — sees the team's faxes, inbox, credits and billing, but doesn't send faxes or manage members.

How do shared credits and page limits work?

Admins and members send from the team's credits, which belong to the owner's account; finance can see them but doesn't send. There's nothing to split or top up per person.

An admin can set a monthly page limit for any member on the Team page; leave it empty for no limit. Limits count pages sent, not received, and reset on the 1st of each month (UTC). A member who reaches their limit is told how many pages they've used, and an admin can raise it at any time.

Who sees what?

While you're on a team, FaxDash shows you the team's inbox and sent history instead of your personal ones. Faxes to the team's numbers land in the shared inbox, and every fax in the sent history shows who sent it.

You keep your own FaxDash account and sign in with it as usual. Your personal credit balance stays separate from the team's.

How do I add a seat?

The team owner buys seats from the Team page in the dashboard, at $2.99/month each. Buy as many as you need in one checkout, and a new seat shows up on the Team page shortly after payment.

Can I suspend a seat and restore it later?

Yes. An admin can suspend a member from the Team page. A suspended member loses access to the team's faxes, numbers and contacts until an admin restores them, and keeps their seat in the meantime.

To give a seat to someone else, remove the member instead; that frees the seat for a new invite.

How do I leave a team or remove someone?

An admin can remove a member from the Team page at any time, which frees their seat. To leave a team, ask one of its admins to remove you. Either way the person keeps their own FaxDash account. The team owner can't be removed.

What happens if the owner's Business plan ends?

The 2 seats included with Business go with it. Any extra seats you still pay for keep their members active, and members beyond the seats that remain are suspended automatically, most recently added first. Suspended members keep their accounts but lose access to the team's faxes, numbers and contacts.

When seats come back, members are restored automatically, longest-standing first. Anyone an admin suspended by hand stays suspended until an admin restores them.
