Can I fax IRS Forms 2848 and 8821?

The IRS provides a fax option when its online submission options cannot be used. Follow the current instructions, including the correct destination and handwritten-signature requirements. FaxDash transmits the document; it does not prepare or file it on your behalf.

Can I use a signature drawn in the app on an IRS form?

Do not assume an in-app signature meets a particular form’s requirements. The IRS specifies handwritten signatures for Forms 2848 and 8821 submitted by fax or mail. Check the official instructions before preparing your document.

Do I need a subscription during tax season?

No subscription is required to send. Buy a credit pack and use it as needed; credits do not expire. A subscription is required if you want a dedicated number to receive faxes.

Does FaxDash confirm the IRS accepted my form?

Fax transmission status reports delivery to a fax destination. It does not confirm that the IRS accepted, approved or processed your submission.

FaxDash is an independent fax service, not affiliated with the IRS. Fax is not a general substitute for tax-return filing.
